Have you ever noticed all of the letters next to a realtor's name in their email signature? Have you ever wondered what they are and what they mean? They are called designations, and in order to receive them, realtors must obtain additional training and education. Here is a brief description of the designations I have received to date!
ABR: Accredited Buyer's Representative - "The Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation is designed for real estate buyer agents who focus on working directly with buyer-clients at every stage of the home buying process."
CLHMS: Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist - "Recognized as the mark of accomplishment in luxury markets around the world, the Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS) designation assures affluent buyers and sellers that the agents who have earned it have the knowledge, experience, competence, and confidence they require."
CRS: Certified Residential Specialist - "The CRS designation is the highest credential awarded to residential sales agents, managers, and brokers. On average, CRS designees earn nearly three times more in income, transactions, and gross sales than non-designee REALTORS®."
CSA: Certified Senior Advisor - "The Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)® is the leading certification for professionals serving older adults, and is a designation awarded to qualified individuals. Earning the CSA certification requires individuals to pass a rigorous exam and to uphold the highest ethical standards for the benefit and protection of the health and welfare of seniors. CSAs are multidisciplinary professionals who have demonstrated advanced knowledge in the multiple processes of aging."
CSHP: Certified Senior Housing Professional - "Certified Senior Housing Professionals™ (CSHP’s) are specialists who understand the distinct late-life transition needs, wants, and goals of mature home buyers and sellers. CSHP’s possess unique skills and knowledge positioning them as preferred real estate professionals for mature clients."
GRI: Graduate Realtor's Institute - "REALTORS® with the GRI designation have in-depth training in legal and regulatory issues, technology, professional standards, and the sales process. Earning the designation is a way to stand out to prospective buyers and sellers as a professional with expertise in these areas."
e-PRO: "NAR's e-PRO® certification program helps REALTORS® master the advanced digital marketing techniques of today. With the e-PRO® certification, REALTORS® increase their ability to reach customers, expand their capabilities, and build trust by safeguarding client information."
MRP: Military Relocation Professional - "NAR's Military Relocation Professional certification focuses on educating real estate professionals about working with current and former military service members to find housing solutions that best suit their needs and take full advantage of military benefits and support."
SRES: Seniors Real Estate Specialist - "The SRES® Designation program educates REALTORS® on how to profitably and ethically serve the real estate needs of the fastest growing market in real estate, clients age 50+. By earning the SRES® designation, you gain access to valuable member benefits, useful resources, and networking opportunities across the U.S. and Canada to help you in your business."
CSDC: Certified Senior Downsizing Coach - "SREI’s Coach Skills Training Program provides Certified Senior Housing Professionals with the unique set of skills needed to help clients navigate challenging late-in-life moves, identify the best path for moving forward, take control of their choices, and adjust to their new normal."
